The manisfestation of a carefree nature: Hip shooting

The ability to interpret the world around us and to truly find extraordinary moments comes from gratitude and appreciating that being lost in a mundane life truly is luxury. Trying to chase this mundane, we expose our consciousness to the subtle irregularities of daily life. Hipshooting is just one of the many tools that help me capture such moments only so can I have it frozen to be further admired in more detail. Hip shooting is merely another tool that can be added to anyone’s arsenal and like all else get better only with practice. The following are just some examples of why i enjoy it so much.

Looking up at others

Having the camera be minimally below chest height puts the natural eyeline and perspective far lower than how we normally see the world around us. Looking up at others naturally gives people a more prominent presence and helps highlight them as the main focal point.

Faster reactions and easing the anxiety

Just having the camera hanging around my kneck with my hands on the camera preventing it from bouncing against my body as I walk, I eliminate the action of bringing the camera to eye line as the photo is taken which not only is faster in reaction time, but is also less confrontational in taking the photo. I place my attention on others through my peripheral vision which helps them remain in their current candid state as i expose the photo, going unnoticed.

Placing emphasis on capturing special moments

Refraining from looking through any display, we naturally reserve more capacity to observe the environment around ourselves looking for points of interest. A special moment itself will carry any photo.

Hip shooting mostly ends in misses for me, and most images definitly turn out less than desirable. All I leave you with is a gallery of some other images taken from the hip.
